About
Soleil (she/her) is a contemporary dancer, maker and educator based in Magandjin (Brisbane). She trained at QDSE (Queensland Dance School of Excellence) throughout high school, attained an Advanced Diploma in Dance in 2018 through ADPI (Australian Dance and Performance Institute) and completed Sydney Dance Company's Pre-Professional Year in 2019.
She works independently as a freelance artist and has performed in works across Australia including works by Stephanie Lake, Opera Australia, Legs on The Wall, VOiiiD Collective and The Ironing Maidens.
Soleil’s debut choreographic work, SEED (in collaboration with audio-visual artist Finley Wegener: https://www.abstracthumanradio.com/), produced by Interstage, began development in 2023 through support from the Sunshine Coast Arts Council and Studio1’s Creative Residency Program.
Her latest work FEAR-OCITY was presented at Studio1’s Testing Site 2025.
Soleil’s personal work seeks to honour the complexity of lived experience while fostering dialogues that are at once intimate, political, and embodied.
